Now that spring has SPRUNG, I am so happy to share this bright and colorful moment from last year!
This is an acrylic painting of a photo I took at Burnt Bridge Creek trail. In the middle of winter, I was yearning for the bright blue skies of late spring and the vibrant thriving greens that follow the rainy season.

Looking for inspiration around me, I turned to nature. And it did not disappoint 🫣😅
Listening to Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff, I sat at my desk and cranked out my value work. It was not easy. Landscapes tend to be challenging for me, and I had to slowly work my way through the process. Nature, as organized as she is, is quite unruly and chaotic. And among that, I have a hard time finding a flow. Often, I get overwhelmed. Even when trying to divide and conquer all the different perspectives, edges, shadows, gradients, and textures that come clashing together; all at once.

Being the bird watcher that I am, I added the Great Egret into the final composition; despite him not being in the original photo.
I love birds, and they are everywhere! I even saw a Egret on the trail! He was “fishing” haha
Birds are everywhere; eating, mating, singing, flying, hiding, nesting, hunting, cleaning…
Nature is wonderful!
Vancouver is wonderful!
Birds are wonderful!
Burnt Bridge Creek is wonderful!
